Amy Knows Wassup

2009 July 2

Hey girls! So today is once again gloomy and overcast. I’m sick of this non-cali summatime weather!! Where’s all the HEAT?! It’s great because the second my skin starts seeing a little sun, and getting a little color….the clouds come a-lurkin’ and my tan fades faster than Scarlet Johannson’s singing career (ya dig?).

So I finally saw My Sister’s Keeper, Tuesday night. Sob alert! I’m not even a crier (in movies), but this one definitely got me a bit choked up. Andrea and I weren’t in hysterical tears though, unlike Nicole, and the three mamasita’s… who went through packets of kleenex tissues. Such softies. But, my Tuesday leading up to the movie ended up being majorly fueled by Amy herself…take a look!

Breakfast was actually a non-Amy’s inspired meal…..

berries, peanut butter, cinnamon, van. extract

berries, almond butter, agave, cinnamon, van. extract + the usual sides

But lunch featured none other than the latest, and greatest Amy’s Texas Burger. Seriously, if you’re into that smoky/bbq-ey flavor…buy this.

wrap + amy's texasss burg. + spinach + tj's med. hummus + bbq sauce

IMG_6436And…..I rounded out this fun, voluminous meal with some Newman’s Own Organics Super Dark Chocolate.

After visiting the pop’s (everything is still progressing well), I made a little snackity-snack.

toast w/ tj's raspberry preserves & a smoothie

I threw a cup of almond milk, 1/2 a banana, vanilla pp, ice cubes & coconut into the blender….which created a tropical shake. :-D

Hellooooo Amy, let me profess my lovee for your pizza’s, right now. The flavor tasted just like the real, amazing stuff you get at some deliciously greasy pizza joint….but it felt gooood to eat. Love that! My mom and I each had 4 slices, split it down the middle.

First had to get our greens in though…

romaine, carrots, heart of palm, avo, cucumbers, celery, woodstock dressing

After the mom date we all headed back to our own houses to relax. My mom snacked on popcorn throughout the movie, but was craving her fave baked apple later on. I just wasn’t in the mood….so  I made a baked pear instead!

baked (In the micro for 1-2 mins) pear, granola, sunflower seed butter, cinn.

Yesterday’s breakfast featured everyone’s favorite DCD, some oatmeal, berries, cinnamon and trail mix.

I ate this while catching up with my NYC Prep kids (don’t hate…), then made up the face, threw on my (very attractive) work uniform and packed up my lunch, all in a rushed fashion.

a-street bread, pepperjack cheese, tomatoes, fake turkey, 3-layer hummus, spinach

sandwich + grapies + rice chips!

I ate lunch during my usual short and sweet, 10 minute break…and afterwards got my hair trimmed. No major changes, just got rid of the split ends and suchhh.

afternoon DELIGHT: pb puffins, kashi go lean crunch, shredded spoonfuls, cottage cheese, cinn., sunflower seed butter

When dinner rolled around, all I wanted was that damn Southwest (Sunshine) Burger. So my friends, that is what I had.

BIG salad + sunshine burger + tortilla chips + corn tortilla

I threw everything possible into this salad. It was so good…. romaine, corn, broccoli, carrots, heart of palm, celery, avocado, Tj’s mediterranean hummus (like sabra roasted garlic, but cheaper!) anddddd Trader Joe’s Pineapple Salsa. Yum. I know there was more in there too, just can’t remember it all.

After dinner I packed up my usual little trail mix and ran off to Nicole’s for some nail-painting and Real World viewing. Ok, CJ is hot…that girl he’s flirting with (not single) is 100 %, without a doubt going to give into that man candy, eventually. Hahahahahaha.

Later that night, Nicole’s little brother got dropped off by his friends… and the boy was drunk. He was just going on and on about his girlfriend, etc, etc! Due to his non-sober state, his eyes just kept rolling back, the face was bright red (contrasting with his red hair), and he was super giggly the whole time. It was even more entertaining than the Real World, honestly. Highlight of my night.

Anywhooo, this morning I got a little distraught after failing to make legitimate pancakes (they came out too thin??)… so I went back to my usual; oatmeal:

berries, WCW peanut butter, tj's blueberry ground flax, cinnamon

+ orange juice, and this almondy pornographic goodness:

Alright girls, i’m off to grab some ingredients for my next internship recipe, hit up some discount-clothing stores & probably/possibly re-stock my very necessary, english muffin & wrap stash.

And don’t forget to enter Kailey’s giveaway!! Girlfriendddd has been blogging for 6 months! :)

Much Love, Jess

Jesss! So glad to hear you didn’t get carob guts all over your pretty white shorts today love ;)

Even if you did, and just didn’t want to admit it, I’d still love you anyways.

SO many Amy’s shenanigans = jealousy over heereee. Send me some?! I just picked up some Amy’s stuff at the groc. store and you’re making me crave it. I wanna try her cakes…ever seen em’? They look awesome.

Anywho, I wanna see that movie SO bad, and I tend to get pretty damn emotional sometimes, so I’m sure if you got upset, I’d absolutely bawl. I’ll share those tissues with your friends, no doubt :P

I love you and glad to hear you’re making progress. You’re awesome and I’ll prob. be texting you later.

    Love,
    Meg
