Happy 4th of July!!
I hope everyone has fun plans for the day, and celebrates with lots of yummy bbq food (vegetarian, of course
), time on the beach or poolside, and of course….if legal, some holiday BREW!
Let me now show you this morning’s delicious (and patriotic?) breakfast. MMM, I love waffles. Nature’s Path Hemp PLUS Waffles, to be exact.
Super speedy mini-recap; Worked, had a girls’ movie sesh and watched The Sex And the City Movie (for the third time)….can I just say how obsessed I am with the fashion in that movie? I want it all! I also re-cooked some split pea soup (from the internship recipes) since it was that good! I’m a major chef now, clearly! Hollaaaaa.
Wanna see more food? Ok!
Thank you Brooke!!!!!! My homegirl knows wassup. This was so deliciously perfect, and tasted amazing with the SPICY! You will see this marvy dish again.
I luffffffed it!!!!!! Multiple exclamation points are necessary.
Over the past few days, I’ve also had….

a BEAUTIFUL yogurt mess....shredded spoonfuls, kashi go lean crunch, fage 2% (w/ stevia & van. extract)
These are my new favorite crackers! So dense & crispy.
Oooooh, I liked this combo. The wrap was stuffed with hummus, tofurky, spinach, dried cranberries, and feta cheese.
I’ve also had a gorg salad (that was eaten alongside some unpictured split pea soup & riceee) as of late.
And looky here, someone by the adorable name of Debs has sent me a very exciting, Costa-Rican filled package!!! Hellloooo fruit, chocolates & chocolate-covered dried fruit! Thank you girl!

woop woop! Chocolate milk, NUTELLA, chocolate-covered pineapple jelly, almonds & pineapple + more chocolate goodies!
And I obviously had to whip up a nutella-filled snack for dessert. My nutella cherry has been popped.
Alright! I wanna hear 4th of July memories!!! Which 4th of July holiday has been your favorite?! Spill it!
My favorite years have always been the ones spent in Ohio, with my cousins. Watermelon + corn on the cob + HOT weather+ swimsuits + running around on the beach/Lake Erie + cute boys in swim trunks + fireworks….I loved it! 3 girls who are all the same age always spells troubleeeee!
Don’t forget to wear your red, white & blue today!
Much Love, Jess

Hey beautiful! I hope you enjoyed my texts lastnight, my phone eventually got taken away from me, I sometimes make really bad decisions on the phone which may or may not involve one or two boys I might be infatuated with. Girlfran over here gets a little out of control. Anywho, I wasn’t functioning very well on the texting keys anyway
Just wanted to send my love your way.
Happy 4th! That meatless wrap looks like something I should recreate tonight for dins! I seriously need some goods eats today after yesterday, so I’ll probably be surfing around your blog for ideas
Since you’re good at that kind of thang.
Love the Nutella from Debs! She is the Nutella QUEEN seriously. Enjoy it! It’s fucking awesome and I’m kinda pissed I’m out of it already…and I even hid it from my Dad and everyone else who could’ve seen it. Sneaky
I suggest you do the same. Once you open that lid, you never wanna stop sniffing…or tasting.
Love you girl! Enjoy your day!

happy 4th Jess!
I think you are my foodie soul mate, for real- your wraps sound SO good! hummus, tofurky, spinach, dried cranberries, and feta cheese is such a fab combination and the meatball one looks delish.
YEAH NUTELLA. Should warn you, once you’ve tried it…there’s no going back

Okay…favorite 4th of July. The summer before sophomore year I went to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina with my friend. We met cute boys, hung out with them, I got my first kiss on the beach, under the stars and fireworks, on the 4th of July. Nothing has topped it since =P
July 4, 2009 at 7:33 pm
that care package was very nice and has a lot of goodies. the meatless wrap is something i need to try asap
July 4, 2009 at 7:39 pm
little Debs hooked you up big time.. enjoy all those tasty treats girlfriend
!
that mediterranean wrappage looks out of this world good — reminds of all the delish flavors of thanksgiving rolled in to a wrap, right?! i dig it for sure.
hmm i don’t know if i can pick one fourth of july that was my favorite — all of mine as a child were similar and amazing… watching fireworks on the roof of my dads car, mindlessly eating ice cream cones from the good humor man without a care, oh how i miss those days!
hope you have a very special holiday weekend gorgeous! Happy 4th
<3 xo

Yay for breakkie waffles
I LOVE LOVE nature’s path waffles (have you tried the maple cinnamon ones? Deeeelish!). And what a fab looking package – how lucky you are!
Fave memory?? I loved one year (I think it was after my freshman year of HS) when my friend came to visit and 4 of us hung out all day, went to a family friend’s big party, fireworks, and then hit the pool afterwards. Fun memories!
Enjoy your night sweetheart! I’m for sure wearing my blue & white – but I need me some red!

LOVE that chocolate package! Oh Nutella, how I love you…
ALL of my 4th of Julys here (in Michigan) have been fabulous. You’ll see what I mean in a few days… it’s kind of crazy but not like anything else! Sorry to be so cryptic…
July 4, 2009 at 10:05 pm
Whatever that meatless wrap creation thing is, I want it. It looks amazing.
Happy 4th to you! My favorite memories are pretty traditional…swimming all day and then eating lots of summer foods, and getting to stay up late to watch fireworks

Yup, you are indeedy a chef! A chef who REALLY knows how to plate her food! Talk about edible arts!
July 5, 2009 at 4:15 am
Hi cutie pie!
That memory of the 4th sounds so amazing! I think one of my favorite 4ths was spent in upstate NY with my family and one of my best friends, tubing, boating, frog hunting, thunder storms, losing my bikini bottoms after being flung from the boat, laughing until we peed our pants, finding a bat in the lakehouse, eating watermelon and spitting the seeds at my best friend, and shaving our legs while sitting on a towel and using a big bowl of water to assist the process. haha who am i?!
Onto eats…I seriously never know where to start because I just get too excited over everything. It’s official that I think you probs eat the best stuff ever!!!
1. We both enjoyed patriotic brekkies!
2. Meatless meatball wrap! Mmmm! I went to Traders and they discontinued those meatballs! Do you still get them there?
3. Those crackers look delicious and the crunchy thickness makes them bomb diggity!
4. The Med wrap = so delicious!
5. You win for best smore’s maker ever!
I hope you have the best 4th ever and I love ya chica! Oh and I need to email you back but I’ve been kookoo today so it might have to be manana. xoxo

And that package!!! Isn’t Nutella the answer to everything?!?!
Let’s see… best 4th of July is sitting on the dock of a huge lake with one of my best friends watching fireworks go off over it.
July 5, 2009 at 3:50 pm
Your food looks delicious! That meatless meatball wrap looks so yummy, and so does the Mediterranean wrap.
Your care package looks fantastic! Nutella is yummy
So many chocolate goodies. Your graham cracker +banana +nutella combo reminds me of smores!
I loved going to the park with my family and playing frisbee with my dad while waiting for the fireworks to start. We also got yummy snow cones, and I remember that was such a treat! I think I was like, 10? Good times
July 5, 2009 at 5:04 pm

Love the three different kinds of “dips” for the sandwich. I always do the same thing, because I can never decide which one I want and I thought I was the only one. Whew. I feel much better about my weird eating habits now. haha.
July 6, 2009 at 12:06 am
